In the BETTER project, we are working on the integration of technical (and administrative) aspects with the ethical and societal aspects during AI development. For this work, we are applying tools developed in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) domain onto the Data Science Lifecycle. In this process, we will guide and aid data scientists to address ethical and societal questions and for experts in the SSH field to understand the way of working (and thinking) of data scientists.
Next to this work, we are involved in the practical use cases of this project. Both to implement this integration of SSH in (clincal) data science, as well as to support Federated Learning in the use cases.
