Darian is the Ethics and Responsible Research and Innovation Lead on the BISS Team. He focuses on ensuring that research and innovation projects at BISS adhere to high ethical standards and are of societal value to the communities they affect. Working together with stakeholders and the BISS team of researchers, Darian brings more than a decade of international experience in Ethics and Politics of Emerging Technologies and Responsible Research and Innovation to projects like the ELSA Lab Poverty and Debt, STRONG AYA and others.
Darian is professor of Practical Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University and Chair of the Philosophy Department. He holds a MA and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Leuven and a BA from McGill University.
